Designing to kill time

Messing around, started scanning random objects.

Iain Macarthur Illustration

Some really cool work by UK based illustrator Iain Macarthur I found while browsing Behance, thought I'd share it with you guys.

WANNA HLD YR HANDHELD, VOL. 1

A less "traditional" tribute to the Beatles, the 8-Bit Operators' “Wanna Hld Yr Handheld, Vol. 1” is a glitchy, robotic, and catchy remake of 16 tracks by the Beatles, all made all utilizing re-purposed Game Boys, Ataris, Commodore 64s and NES consoles.

Gig Posters

Thought I'd share some of the posters I've found online over the last couple years. Some really cool stuff in the folder, unfortunately none of it is very high resolution. The folder contains around 330 posters for mostly rock, metal, indie, or punk shows packed into a 57mb zip file.

Make it Rain

Critically acclaimed tattoo artist, Scott Campbell, recently exhibited this incredible (and expensive looking) set of laser-cut wads of one dollar bills. The Collection is titled "Make it Rain" and shows a bit of the artist's darker undertones.

Diversitile Custom Nikes

Shoe's aren't really something I post about every day but you gotta admit this custom Nikes by Diversitile are pretty damn sweet. As if they weren't over the top enough, the Iron mans and War Machines have plastic "arc reactors" built into the tongues that actually light up. I got over shoes that light up somewhere around age 5 or 6 but that's just me. These shoes are limited edition and it seems no price has been named yet. Check them out on Diversitile.com.

**EDIT: It seems that the Iron Man and War Machine editions are no longer available. Seems that Diversitile and Marvel are currently having a bit of a clash. More info here.

Light Warfare

Probably the most original use of long exposure "light painting" I have ever seen in my life. Ever.

Hayaku: A Time Lapse Journey Through Japan

An AMAZING time-lapse photography project by Brad Kremer, makes me wish I could take a trip to Japan and see it for myself. Brad Kremer's description of the video:
"Japan is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. This is my Japan. This is one of the many reasons why I love Japan. I shot this in many locations around Japan in the summer of 2009. Some of the location include Tokyo, Matsuyama, Imabari, Nagano, Gifu, and Ishizushisan."

Zelda II 3D

Michael Johnston has spent a lot of time and effort turning Zelda II: The Adventure of Link into a 3D FPS. Admirably, it was a labor of love, and not for profit or fame. Fully playable in your browser, no download required, you have to try it out, it's incredibly awesome.

How to Destroy Angels.

How to Destroy Angels is a musical group featuring Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor, his wife Mariqueen Maandig and longtime Nine Inch Nails producer/collaborator Atticus Ross. They've released their new EP for FREE on their website. I've listened to it a couple times through already and I gotta say it's pretty decent, if you're into indie/shoegaze type stuff.

Megaman

It's not every day you see a non-profit fan film with such quality. Eddie Lebron's "Megaman" is a real treat to any fan of the game series, or really to any gamer in general.
